Treatment overview
PicoSure uses intense pulsed light to target and break up pigment and ink particles in the skin. PicoSure can gradually erase brown spots, sun damage, melasma, acne marks, freckles and tattoos on the face and body with minimal discomfort or downtime.
How PicoSure works
The device emits a high intensity flash of light that is selectively absorbed by the pigment. This fractures the pigment, allowing it to be eliminated by the body’s immune system. Gradual lightening occurs over 4-6 treatments typically spaced 4 weeks apart.
The PicoSure Treatment Process
Protective eyewear is worn during treatment. Numbing cream can be applied beforehand. The device headpiece glides over skin delivering brief pulses of light. There may be mild snapping sensations and heat. Redness and minor swelling occur temporarily after treatment sessions.
What To Expect
Some pigment darkening and flaking off occurs during the week following treatments. Follow post-care instructions to facilitate healing. Multi-colour and professional tattoos require more sessions for complete clearance. For best results avoid sun exposure in between treatments.
